counter-point on networking

In my last post about job-seeking methods, I wrote that is possible to conduct a successful job search without relying on networking. I want to make it clear that  although I've really had much luck with networking myself, that doesn't mean that it doesn't work. As a counter-point, I'm posting this example of how networking can work. I like it because the example is low-key and realistic, but still successful.
