I was too busy packing etc to make a going away post, but I'm currently on a little vacation in Montana (as well as Saskatchewan). I've been having a great time - and have stocked up on lots of the Canadian chocolates which are so similar to Australian. I'll be back on Tuesday!

Take a look at Shades of Gray (not about the recently recalled Governor of California) and the follow-up.

He mentions O'Reilly's appearance on Fresh Air, Dave Winer's "funky RSS" comments, and takes the media to task for giving the Bushies a free ride over the most outrageous claims - and wonders why this might be. He uses the RIAA as an example of using the media to popularize outrageous claims.

"this is not me", my new fictional blog

"this is not me" is my experiment with a fictional blog. It's not a blog novel or anything, but is a blog by a fictional person. I don't know if blogs are a good media for fiction, but this is my attempt to find out.

I've got a few ideas for how the story and main character will develop as well as what's in store for the next ten posts. But the planning is quite minimilist and is subject to change. I plan to be true to the blog medium by not doing too much editing - preferring to focus on sustaining spontaneous regular postings, that are in character...
